“Sage!” Fairy cried, toggling back to her Reploid form in an instant. She gave her brother a quick hug, but pulled away a second later with a glance at Cerveau.

“Like I said, we died. Back when we all fought Omega, with Zero. Fefnir and I were already injured because Weil kept us in disrepair so he’d have less Guardians to deal with, and Copy didn’t do a thing about it. We… I don’t think we could have made it out. Harpuia could have escaped, I’m sure of that, but he stayed with us. We used our bodies to shield and save Zero. I hear the Mother Elf took him to the base after that.”

Harpuia listened quietly, looking at Cerveau, the back at Leviathan. He did not mind his sibling’s hug, in fact, he would have probably returned it if it wasn’t so brief. He let Fairy explain, soon understanding that the topic at hand was their death. “In all honesty…” he spoke up, gathering his thoughts. “As the engineer before us would know, I was not in peak condition when I left the care of the resistance, but as my fellow Guardian has said, I could have left. However, for the mentioned reasons, I chose not to.”
Nodding a little, Sage Harpuia was tempted to step back. “…” Well, that was all he could say, but…
“I apologize for wasting your resources in that manner.”

“Sage…” he shakes his head.  “We were fighting on the same side, that time.  Omega and Weil had to be stopped, because they threatened damn near everything, both Neo Arcadia and the Resistance.  Helping an ally, even one that’s been an enemy in the past, is never a waste of resources.  And now, since it appears that you’re cyber elves, it would be kind of difficult for you to waste any more of them.”  He half-smiles, then his expression turns a bit more serious.  “Sorry, that was a bit flippant of me.  Look, whatever our pasts are is just that, in the past.  I may not have ever trusted your motivations, but I’m not the one in charge here, and Ciel doesn’t seem to be worried about you guys hanging around.  Maybe I’m just stubborn, but I think she’s a little too trusting to let you roam free around the base.” 
He looks them both in the eyes for a long second, then closes his own for a moment.  “She’s happy you’re here and doesn’t mind it, but I kind of do.  This is her show, so we do things her way.  So I’ll play nice.  I’ll be polite.  I’ll talk to you, I’ll help you with something if you need it. But I want something to be perfectly clear.  Until I see something that gives me a damn good reason to think otherwise, I don’t trust you.  Any of you.”

I know what you mean, Ciel.  His track record worries me to no end.

Must be worst for you, considering you know him a lot longer than I have! Plus you used to fight along side him at least…I can’t even that. :/

Don’t be so hard on yourself about that, Ciel.  And the reason I worried so much was because…because we lost him twice, but he managed to come back both times.  Sometimes I wonder if it’s “three strikes and you’re out” with him…

Understandable but I highly doubt that…I mean he has a strong will, maybe that’s why he came back all those times?

Cerveau laughs.  “Yeah, he’s really just too stubborn to die.  I should know I’ve had to fix him up more than once.  I don’t think he knows how to stay in one spot for very long, being dead would be too boring for him.”

“….Cerveau is that..YOU?! Oh my god, it’s so great to see a familiar face from the resistance join here!” She gets extremely excited, “I’m so glad to see you!!!” She smiles. “Everyone is here! I have so many new friends as well! You will love it here as much as I have!!”

“Yes indeed, Ciel!  It’s great to see you too, haven’t seen a friendly face in quite a while.  Is my old lab still operational, or do I have work to do before I get to work?”  He grins and hugs her, then glances over and sees Fairy.
“Well, hello to you too!  If you’re here, things got mostly worked out while I was gone.  Glad to see it.”  He smiles and offers Fairy his hand.

Ciel hugs him back “oo! you have no idea how much I miss you guys!” She did a little grin, “Oh you know that lab is in perfect shape! I had to maintain it while you were gone you know! I had to make sure everyone was check over and working fine~” She jumps. “This is very exciting!”

Leviathan paused, looking at the outstretched hand. He hadn’t even flinched. She was slightly disappointed. “Something like that. … No hard feelings?”

He lets his hand drop and sighs lightly.  “Fairy, if I held a grudge against anyone doing the right thing in their own judgement, and it turned out they were wrong, there would be damn few people on the planet I’d talk to.  Plus, seeing you here… and seeing Ciel not freaking out…” he shakes his head.  “Things have changed.  I’m not going to say I trust you just yet, but… no.  No hard feelings.”

His kindess regarding the matter startled her, and she gave him a big grin. “That’s good enough for me. So, what have you been up to lately?” 

“Traveling.  Looking for something.”  He offers her a small, polite smile and a nod, then turns back to Ciel.  “I’m excited to be home again.  Hopefully with me back, your workload can be lightened a bit.”

Leviathan frowned at Cerveau’s backside, which was now facing her. She disliked that he had turned away from her like that, and a part of her was unhappy that he felt comfortable enough to do so. “What were you looking for?” she asked, interrupting her thoughts and whatever Ciel might have been about to say.

She smiled back “Yes, being home is wonderful thing. I hope your trip didn’t cost any trouble.” She then saw Leviathan slightly annoyed and nudge Cerveau’s waist line.

He glances back to Fairy for a moment, then takes a step back so that he isn’t standing directly between Fairy and Ciel, so that he doesn’t have to turn his back on anyone.  “That’s… not something I really feel comfortable discussing, Fairy.”  He looks back to Ciel. “It didn’t cause any problems, don’t worry, I’m in peak condition.  I’m just sorry that I had to up and vanish on everyone like that.”

Fairy huffed slightly at the witheld information, but she knew Cerveau was within his rights. At the word ‘vanish’ she thought of something.

“While you were out, did you see Zero? He just-” she stopped. Zero had said he wanted to lay low, and while he had conceded it was alright for Ciel to know he was okay, he hadn’t mentioned Cerveau.

He shakes his head.  “No, I haven’t seen him.  I was hopin’ I might bump into him out there, but no.”

engineercerveau: “Hello, Fairy.  How… are you?”  He looks you over, assessing.  “You seem to be in good shape, no major damage that I can see, that’s good.”

Fairy debated turning into a cyber elf, to show Cerveau the truth, but she didn’t want to relinquish her Reploid form just yet…

“I’m… I died, Cerveau. All the Guardians died.”

He blinks, a mix of emotions on his face.  “Oh…”  Was all he managed to get out. His mouth worked for a moment without anything else coming out, but then he managed a small “I’m sorry.”

Fairy looked away, uncomfortable. “…I’m sorry too.”

He stiffened for a moment, very clearly taken off-guard.  Saying that had cost her something, and he knew it.  “I never…” he began, but stopped.  He took in a big breath and let it out slowly, and decided to leave her dangling in the awkward zone for just a bit longer.  He was going to play nice, but part of him wanted petty revenge.  He smiled almost bitterly and shook his head a bit, almost more at himself than anything else.

“Yeah,” he said quietly.  It was all he managed before his gaze fell to the floor.

Leviathan had nothing to say, and neither apparently did Cerveau. The silence seemed to eat away at her, and her Reploid form vanished, leaving the tiny cyber elf hanging miserably in the air.

“I guess you don’t know what happened, do you.” she stated simply. She wished one of her brothers was there with her. Any of them. Harpuia would have been best.

Flit… flit… where was this?

Harpuia had been wandering about for quite some time. Having a small form like this allowed him to move about wherever he pleased, undisturbed. As of now, however, he regretted not knowing where he was going.

It was familiar, and yet not…- oh wait, there was Fairy! She seemed to be with someone else. He approached, slightly hurried, but almost screeched to a halt when he managed to make out who the other was.

Cerveau. The Resistance’s mechanic.

They had met. Their words to each other were brief, but he had not forgotten. What was going on here? He gave Fairy a questioning glance, his form flickering before forming a reploid rather than a small ball of light.

He looks into the Fairy ball, and then glances to the appearing Sage and blinks again, then lets out a breath.  “Apparently I don’t.” He looks back to Fairy.  “Would anyone mind enlightening me?”
